Personal Profile:
Prof. Chen Yumiao is currently a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor in the Department of Industrial Design at the School of Art, Design, and Media at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST).
Her research primarily focuses on intelligent design, intelligent equipment design, and embodied intelligence. She has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund project, one Humanities and Social Sciences Planning Fund project by the Ministry of Education, two Industry-University Cooperative Education Projects by the Ministry of Education, three Soft Science Key Projects under Shanghai's Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan, and one project funded by the Xie Youbai Design Science Research Fund. She was selected for the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program and the ECUST Young Talent Cultivation Program.
She has published 52 papers as first or corresponding author in core domestic and international journals and conferences, including 3 papers in CAS Top Journals (Category 1), 9 papers in CAS Category 2 journals, and 8 papers indexed in SSCI. She has been granted two invention patents and over ten utility model patents. Her design works have been selected for the Shanghai Design 100+ list, and she has guided students to win numerous provincial, ministerial, and national awards, including the second prize in the Mobile Application Innovation Contest of the China Collegiate Computing Contest, the National Bronze Award in the Internet+ College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the first prize in the National Finals of the National College Digital Art and Design Competition, and the first prize in Shanghai's Huichuang Qingchun Competition. As the primary instructor and supervisor, she participated in the establishment of the Apple ECUST iOS Application Development Club.
She actively promotes the construction of the ECUST Intelligent Interaction Laboratory, exploring the role of human-computer interaction research in intelligent system design. Facing the new era of intelligent interconnection and the integration of virtual and real worlds, she conducts interdisciplinary research on Artificial Intelligence + Interaction Design for emerging intelligent industries and the internet sector. The laboratory provides design research and product development services for companies such as Apple Inc., SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, Shanghai Computer Technology Research Institute, Shanghai Guangwei Electric Appliance Co., Ltd., Shanghai Dafeng, Beijing Jinfa Technology Co., Ltd., and Fotile Group.
